Way too much shopping

Got to love shopping. As I mentioned yesterday, I got some clothes, kitchen stuff, and rather a lot of yarn at Austevoll. The two top pictures is what I found in my mail box when I got home today. The yarn is from WildFireFibres, and the little make your own clutch is from the lovely Lisa. I have been reading her blog for almost 2 years now, not being able to afford anything. I figured I should treat myself now that I got my christmas bonus, and I thought these little kits were a brilliant idea. She even included some sweets for me, how awesome is that?

You can see from all the clothes which colours I love, was rather funny when I piled it all up. Normally there is a lot more blue, but apparently that's not fashionable at the moment. Got to love sales though, all of the clothes were half price. My sister is a very bad influence when shopping, her mantra is "go on, buy it!", but then again I probably need it considering how few clothes I actually have.

Tonight I'm having Pinnekjøtt and doing a lot of knitting I think. Still haven't gotten very far on my Dr. Who scarf, and I have to figure out what to do with all my new yarn. I can see alpaca is becoming an addiction. But hey, it could be a lot worse, and hopefully it can replace my chocolate addiction.

Stop eating so much chocolate is one of my new year resolutions. Eat more sensible, exercise more, not start 100 projects and not finish them, and trust the people who care about me more. And ofc listening to my mum more. Could have saved myself a lot of trouble if I had realised earlier that she is *always* right. I don't know how she does it, but it never fails.

The Phish Food I'm saving for the weekend, been looking for it all over, and finally found it at 7/11 today. My favourite one is Caramel Sutra, but I couldn't even find that in England. Maybe they have stopped making it..

Almost time for fireworks and dinner. Happy New Year everyone!

Change of knitting chair

Yesterday my sister and I took the boat to Austevoll to spend 2 days at "hytten". So basically I have had a new chair to sit in to knit, and that's about it. Today was my mother- and stepdad's wedding anniversary, 19 years and they still don't seem bored with eachother.

The only dangerous thing about going to Austevoll is this really cute yarn shop that is only open 3 days a week. Everytime I go in there I end up with tons of alpaca yarn. Today I got 6 balls of light blue, and 3 of a bluey green colour. No real project for them, just had to have them.

We did go rather nuts shopping today. I also got moulds for making chocolate fondant cakes, and a blow torch. Have wanted one for ages, sadly I had to leave my old one behind when I moved from England. I also got some clothes, found a rather nice shop where everything was 50% off. I normally hate shopping for clothes (which explains why most of my wardrobe is filled with craft stuff), but today was ok.

I tried to start these socks, but failed about 3 times. Hard to get into a new pattern when you have 5 people chatting and drinking in the same room, so I think that's one for when I'm alone and have time to concentrate.

I did however make a rather 80's braided headband for my 17 year old sister. Will try to get a picture of her wearing it tomorrow. She has some nutty ideas at times, she thought she would finish it herself in one night, but as she's not used to knitting, it was rather slow, and I ended up doing 75% of it.

Better get to bed, got to get up early, can't miss the ferry or we'll be stuck here new years eve.

Progress so far

So, this is how far I got on the scarf I mentioned yesterday. It's lovely to knit, so easy I can just watch tv and not think about it at all. Have ordered some yarn from here, and that will be my complicated project, and this will be my easy one. Cannot have just one project at a time ;).

I also found 2000 NOK in my ice tea maker this morning. Odd what you can find inside things in your cupboard. I don't normally keep money in my kitchen, my dad had put them there as a "Christmas Bonus" for "the worlds best daughter". He's very good with presents.

Making dinner for my sister today, doing Chicken Korma, one of the things she really loves. She's a tiny little thing, and it's great to see her eat properly.

Better go make breakfast now, haven't eaten yet. Fry up it is :D

Merry Christmas everyone!

Hope you all have a lovely Christmas. We have so far, no big disasters, and hardly any arguing which is very good for a family with 3 sisters. Finally time to relax. I'm so happy that I don't have to go back to work until the 5th, I really need the time off. So the next days will be spent knitting this scarf (Ravelry link) for a very good friend, eating way too much food, and watching Nigella on BBC Lifestyle.

Christmas=Marzipan

Marzipan:
500g of Around Almonds
400g Icing Sugar
1 eggwhite
2-3 Tbs of cognac (I got mine delivered by my neighbour, very handy to live next to your mother)
A tiny bit of water

And that's pretty much how you do it. I made a batch last weekend, but it all got eaten yesterday when we celebrated my grandfathers 80th birthday. I still have about 750g of ground almonds left, so I have plenty to do next weekend.

Breakfast

Hello people.
Time for breakfast.

Why is it that I can never cook for 1, always end up with enough food for at least 4 people?

My first post.. oddly enough I'm a bit nervous. Hopefully there will be some craft stuff here in addition to all the stuff I eat, or it will be very boring.
